Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be under 18 years old as of January 1, 2026.

• Open to riders of all levels and experience.

• Riders do not need to own a horse or be actively competing but should have a strong interest in developing their dressage skills and knowledge.

• Selected riders should demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to good horsemanship in their interactions with horses.

• Recipients should be willing to support and participate in QSLB activities by volunteering for a minimum of 5 hours throughout the season as their schedule allows.

• Previous recipients winners are allowed to apply (2 year maximum). 

• We encourage junior riders of all skill levels to apply!

 

Bursary Details:

 

Selected riders will be awarded up to $750 CAD to be used towards QSLB-supported events of their choice, including:

​

✅ QSLB Hosted Clinics

✅ Test Ride Clinics

✅ QSLB Hosted Dressage Shows (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

✅ Membership Fees (QSLB, Ontario Dressage, Equestrian Canada (EC), Ontario Equestrian (OE))

✅ Ontario Silver/Bronze Dressage Championship Fees

✅ QSLB-approved lessons with an EC-certified/licensed coach

 

Application Requirements:

📌 A reference letter from a non-family member who can provide a recommendation (e.g., coach, teacher, volunteer coordinator, etc.).

📌 Photos of you and your horse

 

Additional Notes:

• Funds must be used within the 2026 calendar year. Any unused funds will be donated back to QSLB at year-end.

• Awarded riders are required to become members of QSLB Dressage (Cadora) before or after receiving the bursary.
